Diamond
Selecting the perfect diamond is an art which requires balancing cut, color, clarity and carat weight. Scroll down to see the details of this diamond - selected by our experts as the best value for this setting - or choose another diamond from our vast inventory that is perfect for you.
"Carat" is a measure of a diamond’s weight. However, because the perception of diamond size is dependent on how large it appears when viewed from the top, but the depth of a stone can impact the brilliance and overall beauty. A diamond’s cut and proportions should also be considered to ensure that the weight is distributed correctly.

Clarity
CLARITY
"Clarity" refers to the number and size of the natural inclusions that occur in most diamonds. Many of these clarity characteristics are microscopic and do not affect a diamond's appearance. Diamond clarity ranges from FL (flawless) to I3 (heavily included) but Reeds Jewelers's experts only source stones rated SI2 or better.
FL-IF: No internal inclusions or external surface blemishes – a very rare diamond
VVS1-VVS2: Very difficult to see inclusions under 10x magnification – an excellent quality diamond
VS1-VS2: Inclusions are visible under 10x magnification
SI1-SI2: Inclusions are not typically visible to the unaided eye
I1-I3 (not carried by Reeds Jewelers): Inclusions visible to the naked eye

Cut
CUT (Round Stones Only)
"Cut" is one of the most important characteristics and has a significant influence on a diamond's beauty and sparkle. The better a diamond is cut, the better it reflects and refracts light creating the "fire" that experts refer to. Diamond cut ratings range from "excellent" to "poor", however Reeds Jewelers's experts only source diamonds with at least a "good" cut.
Excellent: The best diamond cut available which reflects nearly all light that enters
Very good: Reflects nearly as much light as the excellent cut but less expensive
Good cut: Reflects most of the light that enters a diamond
Fair cut (not carried by Reeds Jewelers): Not as brilliant as a "good" cut
Poor cut (not carried by Reeds Jewelers): Does not reflect much light
